Skills and Drills on the Hill returns this weekend

Skyline’s second annual Skills and Drills on the Hill football competition will take place this Saturday and Sunday at Spartan Stadium with 27 teams from around the state slated to take part.

The event will include a two-day, round-robin 7-on-7 passing competition. There will also be a lineman challenge, and a newly added kicking/punting contest.

Events will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., both days.

Here’s a look at the schedule of events:

Passing competition- 9 a.m. both days on eight different fields

Kicking and punting contest- 11:30 a.m., Saturday at the main field

Lineman challenge -9:30 a.m., Sunday at the south end of the main field. Events include obstacle course, tire toss, bench press, truck push and hoop relay. The final event, a tug of war, will take place during lunch at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Here’s a list of some of the teams expected to show up: Bethel, Bonney Lake, Curtis, Eastlake, Eastside Catholic, Ellensburg, Enumclaw, Glacier Peak, Graham Kaposwin, Inglemoor, Issaquah, Kamiak, Kentwood, Mercer Island, Meridian, Mountlake Terrace, O’Dea, Redmond, Renton, Skyline and Todd Beamer.

Sponsors of the 2010 event include Sports Authority, Swedish Hospital, Costco and Chiles Sports Development.
