KingCo 4A cross country meet features three top-ranked girls teams

October 20th, 2011 at Thu, 20th, 2011 at 11:09 am by Kevin Endejan

The KingCo 4A cross country meet begins at 2:45 p.m., today (Oct. 20) at Lincoln Park in West Seattle and it should be an interesting competition — particularly on the girls side.

There are three teams ranked in the top 10 of the latest coaches’ rankings, including Redmond (No. 3), Eastlake (No. 8 ) and Issaquah (No. 9).

Eastlake coach Troy Anderson described the matchup as “beastly.”

Eastlake is targeting its sixth consecutive KingCo Championship, which would be a record. Currently Eastlake and Issaquah (1986-1990) hold the KingCo record with five straight championships.

According to Anderson, on the boys side, Skyline and Garfield are favorites to win the team title, with Eastlake, Redmond, Ballard and Roosevelt vying for the next few spots.
