Eastlake football supports Operation Bald Eagle this Friday

October 10th, 2011 at Mon, 10th, 2011 at 1:53 pm by Kevin Endejan

In an effort to give back to soldiers who have made sacrifices for their country, the Eastlake football will support Operation Bald Eagle at Friday’s homecoming game against Issaquah.

Coach Gene Dales and his team encourage community members to bring school supplies to be donated to the children of military personnel stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Donated items could be anything from paper and pencils, to backpacks or calculators.

Marines will be present to collect these items and distribute them to the children of Fort Lewis.

Dr. Mark Nelson, of Nelson Orthodontics, will sell $5 raffle tickets during the game to raise money for the Operation Bald Eagle benevolence fund, supporting families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty serving in the military, police or fire services.

Raffle participants must be 18 or over to purchase or win. Winners don’t have to be present.
