Issaquah’s own Colin Curtis continues to make noise with the New York Yankees a month after getting called up to the Majors.
Curtis inherited an 0-2 count on Wednesday afternoon, when teammate Brett Gardner was ejected from the game against Anaheim. Curtis worked the count full against Scot Shields, before drilling a line drive just over the right-field fence for his first Major League home run — a three-run shot. The homer prompted a curtain call from the Yankee Stadium crowd of 47,521.
Curtis is now batting .259 with a home run and seven RBI. Be sure to check out my feature on Curtis, in case you missed it.
